The Beatles and John Lennon

The Beatles are classic enlightenment and rebellion at once. The Beatles are universal. Their lyrics are inspired and inspirational, thought provoking and ground-breaking.
I separated one song as by John Lennon only because it is his creation alone. But I think that Lennon is so strongly associated with the Beatles despite their division that it would be appropriate to include them on the same page.
Sometimes when I am going through times, this song makes me feel stronger:
Let It Be by the Beatles
Lyrics
When I find myself in times of trouble, mother Mary comes to me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
And in my hour of darkness she is standing right in front of me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it be.Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be.
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.And when the broken hearted people living in the world agree,
there will be an answer, let it be.
For though they may be parted there is still a chance that they will see,
there will be an answer. let it be.Let it be, let it be…..
And when the night is cloudy, there is still a light, that shines on me,
shine until tomorrow, let it be.
I wake up to the sound of music, mother Mary comes to me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it be.Let it be, let it be…..
Across the Universe by the Beatles
Lyrics
Words are flying out like
endless rain into a paper cup
They slither while they pass
They slip away across the universe
Pools of sorrow waves of joy
are drifting thorough my open mind
Possessing and caressing me
(Chorus):
Jai guru deva om
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my world
Nothing’s gonna change my worldImages of broken light which
dance before me like a million eyes
That call me on and on across the universe
Thoughts meander like a
restless wind inside a letter box
they tumble blindly as
they make their way across the universe(Chorus)
Sounds of laughter shades of life
are ringing through my open ears
exciting and inviting me
Limitless undying love which
shines around me like a million suns
It calls me on and on across the universe(Chorus)
Jai guru deva
Jai guru deva
The next song is one that I heard a cover of by another artist after hearing the original John Lennon. I will always like the Lennon version of their own songs, but the cover by Jordis Unga is beautiful in a different way too.
Imagine by John Lennon
Performed by John Lennon
Performed by Jordis Unga
Lyrics
Imagine there’s no Heaven
It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for todayImagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
(Chorus):
You may say that I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will be as oneImagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world(Chorus)
Strawberry Fields Forever by the Beatles
Lyrics
(Chorus):
Let me take you down, ’cause I’m going to Strawberry Fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hung about.
Strawberry Fields forever.Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see.
It’s getting hard to be someone but it all works out.
It doesn’t matter much to me.(Chorus)
No one I think is in my tree, I mean it must be high or low.
That is you can’t you know tune in but it’s all right.
That is I think it’s not too bad.(Chorus)
Always no sometimes think it’s me, but you know I know when it’s a dream.
I think I know I mean “Yes,” but it’s all wrong.
That is I think I disagree.(Chorus)
Strawberry Fields forever.
Strawberry Fields forever.
The next song epitomizes what it means to be liberated in terms of your self and your world. Your mind is your reality

Hold you in his armchair you can feel his disease

Hey Jude by the Beatles
Lyrics
Hey Jude, don’t make it bad.
Take a sad song and make it better.
Remember to let her into your heart,
Then you can start to make it better.Hey Jude, don’t be afraid.
You were made to go out and get her.
The minute you let her under your skin,
Then you begin to make it better. And anytime you feel the pain, hey Jude, refrain,
Don’t carry the world upon your shoulders.
For well you know that it’s a fool who plays it cool
By making his world a little colder.Hey Jude, don’t let me down.
You have found her, now go and get her.
Remember to let her into your heart,
Then you can start to make it better. So let it out and let it in, hey Jude, begin,
You’re waiting for someone to perform with.
And don’t you know that its just you, hey Jude, you’ll do,
The movement you need is on your shoulder.Hey Jude, don’t make it bad.
Take a sad song and make it better.
Remember to let her under your skin,
Then you’ll begin to make it
Better better better better better better, oh.Na na na na na ,na na na, hey Jude…
Penny Lane by the Beatles
Lyrics
In Penny Lane there is a barber showing photographs
Of every head he’s had the pleasure to have known,
And all the people that come and go
Stop and say hello. On the corner is a banker with a motorcar,
The little children laugh at him behind his back.
And the banker never wears a mac
In the pouring rain, very strange.{Chorus):
Penny Lane is in my ears and in my eyes.
There beneath the blue suburban skies
I sit, and meanwhile backIn Penny Lane there is a fireman with an hourglass
And in his pocket is a portrait of the Queen.
He likes to keep his fire engine clean,
It’s a clean machine.Penny Lane is in my ears and in my eyes.
A four of fish and finger pies
In summer, meanwhile backBehind the shelter in the middle of the roundabout
A pretty nurse is selling poppies from a tray
And though she feels as if she’s in a play
She is anyway. In Penny Lane the barber shaves another customer,
We see the banker sitting waiting for a trim.
And then the fireman rushes in
From the pouring rain, very strange.(Chorus)
Penny lane is in my ears and in my eyes.
There beneath the blue suburban skies,
Penny Lane.
